The Department of Civil Engineering in VKCET was established way back in 2011 and fosters a dynamic academic environment, which is committed to a tradition of excellence in teaching, research and service. The primary objective of the Civil Engineering department is to prepare the students to be competent in the fundamentals of Engineering so that they are capable of analysing, designing and describing Civil Engineering systems and processes. The department also strives to ensure that each student is aware of the social and economic implications of engineered projects so that they become responsible and ethical citizens and professionals. The Dept. takes immense pleasure in delivering technically proficient and ethically responsible engineers to the society and promises to produce more for improving the living standards of our nation.

With a team of well qualified and dedicated faculty members having ample expertise in various fields of specializations, such as Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Construction / Project Management, Geoinformatics, the department maintains a stable foundation and strong commitment to teaching. The department has fully equipped laboratories manned by experienced Technical support personnel. The department also offers different consultancy works. The department enrols sixty students for the B.Tech. Programme every year. he Department of Civil Engineering is a vibrant place for learning, where students pursue their educational interests in order to lead the next generation to better prospects.
